ATTRACTIONS & ART

We've started our Art Projects for this year!  Have you?

LOCAL ART

Esthetic Evolution is proud to announce that we have been able to partly sponsor some local Boise artist to contribute to the interactive art at the Festival this year.  One such project is the Incendiary Swamp, an interactive water and fire art piece by Dirk Anderson, Randy Wolff, and Gary Raydon. Dirk is a professional artist living in Idaho City, and has not only created several of the most beautiful sculptures in Boise, but also several fire and light steel and cast aluminum pieces for Burning Man. Randy Wolf and Gary Raydon created the Floe, a mobile art piece / mutant vehicle, and Snow Dance, a memorial installation seen at both Esthetic Evolution and Burning Man in 2008.

Incendiary Swamp is a steel sculpture that juxtaposes elements of both industry and nature, randomness and order. Flames dance across a bubbling pond, with steel lotus flowers and tall reeds spouting fire and fog. A mushroom patch, cast in aluminum, glows with light. Participants can trigger long fingers of flame from the several of the tallest grasses.

To help generate additional funds for this incredible art project, a fundraising event has been organized at the Terrapin Station in Boise, ID on May 9th.  Any funds raised that are not required to build and install Incendiary Swamp will be shared with other Esthetic Evolution funded art pieces. Doors open for the Bunny Bash at 8:30pm and admission is only $7.00.  Come get your Bunny on and support the local arts.

COSTUME PROJECT

Looking for something to wear at Esthetic Evolution this year?

Well, the Boutique has been revived again in 2009!!!  Some of you may remember 2 years ago there was a canopy set up in the middle of the meadow with all sorts of fun things to wear.  After a short hiatus last year, the Boutique will be back to serve a number of costuming needs again.  This is yet another interactive installation and is based upon the concept of gifting.  Everything that the Boutique has to offer is available for you to use at your discretion.  Put it on, check yourself out and enjoy your fabulous new look.  When you're done with it, bring it back or keep it if you want to!

Currently, we are on a clothing drive to help increase the supply of outfits available to attendees of the Festival this year.  Help contribute to the Boutique by donating your groovy old costumes and outfits to the cause. You know you've got plenty of stuff you've worn a million times and are just plain tired of.  Not to mention those old bell-bottoms that you just can't squeeze in to anymore. To help keep the supply in good balanced at the Boutique, we ask that you bring something to contribute to the cause; it's kind of a mini karmic return.  Want to make your contribution before the Event begins, feel free to E-Mail us at:

Wanna totally deck yourself out for the festivities this year?

Don't forget you can always visit our friends at the Costume Shop before you come up to the Event.  The Costume Shop is a big supporter of local arts and has the best selection of outfits anywhere.  Click the image below to check them out:
