ATTRACTIONS & ART Remember, Esthetic Evolution is a participatory Event. The purpose of the Festival is to provide an atmosphere & venue for you, the attendee, to express yourself and share your talents alongside the other performers we have booked for your enjoyment. Do NOT be intimidated or feel your talents are not worthy simply because someone may be listed on this Attractions Page or might be doing something similar to what you would like to do. The listings on this page are merely for activities and contributions from people who have contacted us and committed to sharing what they have planned to do at Esthetic Evolution. These are by no means an "official" representation of the Festival and these people are given no exclusive rights to be the only performer of their type at the Event. If you would like to share your excitement for your project or activity by having it listed here on the Attractions Page of the website, please, feel free to contact us at EstheticEvolution@Hotmail.com and we will correlate with you to do so. For those of you who are capable of and wish to do any kind of Fire Performance, do not be shy. Step up and perform for everyone; the Event is very conducive to this type of activity. As with everything else, however, please be sure your project or performance is safe. Remember, fireworks, rockets, and other explosives are expressly prohibited. If there are fire troupes or performances listed here it does NOT mean that these people are the only ones allowed to share their talent. The more the merrier we feel!!! If you feel comfortable, we invite you to perform your fire activity during the pre-burn festivities which occur both nights before the lighting of an art project in the main fire pit near the FIRE Stage. These burn projects kick off the evenings fire at the main fire pit. So please make your way to the main stage at dusk (around 10:00 pm) to show off your fire skills in celebration of the burning of the nightly art project; your participation is greatly appreciated. Additionally, if you have your own project you would like to burn, please contact us at the E-Mail address below to organize a safe and proper burn for your art. Again, we are happy to advertise you or your group for any projects, performances, theme camps, or any other activity you would like to share. No matter what it is!!! So, if you plan to present some form of art or other personal expression at the Event and would like to have your project listed here on the Attractions Page, please E-Mail us at:
SOUND / THEME CAMPS Esthetic Evolution prides itself on being a largely participatory event where one and all can put creative efforts into their own art, themed camp sites, and music. As our event continues to grow, we have recognized the desire for campers and theme camps to provide their own DJ setups and sound systems. Due to the close proximity to your fellow campers-- as well as to both of our Sound Stages-- we CANNOT allow all campers to set up their own sound. This year we have decided to allow 2 individual Sound Camps up on the meadow on a trial basis. If they turn out to be relatively unobtrusive, then we will most likely allow several more sound camps next year. If you were planning on bringing up your own sound for your camp, you MUST contact Esthetic Evolution for specification and permission. Individuals or Camps that have not contacted us will NOT be allowed to use sound on the meadow. Please recognize that in no way are we trying to limit your creativity or desire for FUN! We are simply trying to make this Event as esthetically pleasing and enjoyable as possible for all who attend. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter. Please E-Mail us with any questions or concerns: |

Esthetic Evolution is proud to present The Sam Show! This will be an acoustic performance on the FIRE Stage just before the electronic music performances begin on Saturday night. The Sam Show has been entertaining herself & others with words & music since she could brush her teeth. In fact, Sam regards musical expression to be a basic part of her hygiene much like teeth brushing... She has been a winning slam poet, a street musician in 3 countries, & a Bad Girl on a tour of bars, coffee shops, & filthy punk houses up & down I5. Nine times out of ten somebody in the audience ends up weeping when Sam performs. She wields the sweet simplistic power of a girl & her guitar with humor & fluidity. Her songs have the literary strength of story telling using visual, ironic, poetic, & playful lyrics. After a sensational serenade with a rich & transportive voice, her set includes a special finale that integrates her 10 years of tap dance lessons. |

Pat McDonald has been a Boise local for the past 8 years. His talent extends into the realms of music, poetry, prose, and even martial arts. Having caught what he calls "the vagabond bug" Pat enjoys traveling and has been influenced by the many places he has visited and lived in his life. He has even been fortunate enough to have traveled to New York and Toronto to attend teaching by the Dalai Lama. Esthetic Evolution is honored to have Pat and his accompanying band members share their love and talent for music with us. We have even come to find that, though there is truly no such thing as coincidence, some of Pat's children have been attendees of Esthetic Evolution in past years! It's a small world after all. You can catch Pat Mc D performing at the on Friday evening just before the electronic music performances begin on that night. If you want to check out more of who Pat is and what he does, visit http://www.patmcd.com/ or drop by his MySpace at http://www.myspace.com/patrickmcd

Be a piece of artwork for the night! Located near the Fire Stage on Friday and Saturday nights, Serendipity’s Lover Body Painting will cover you with original designs and artwork. Choose from either any array of vibrant colors for daytime use, or stop by once the sun goes down and get UV-reflective paints for a truly glowing experience. Available on Friday from 7pm to 12 am and Saturday from 10pm to 12am.
The Flying Pig is one of the more random artistic contributions to Esthetic Evolution. Yet it is the capricious nature of this project which gives it such a flare (especially when it goes up in flames)! Chris Geile is the man behind this unofficial tradition and is bringing it back to the fire pit once again. So stand back and enjoy the show; this aint no Luau!!!. The Pig will burn on Friday night just after dark and will mark the kick off for the evenings many fire demonstrations.

To kick off Saturday night's fire festivities, a four sided "box" of sorts is being constructed, the walls of which will contain imagery of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water. This burn sculpture is an homage to this year's visual theme featuring the Four Elements and also pr0cess, the production crew who originated Esthetic Evolution 4 years ago. The project is the brain child of pr0cess' own Jared Yates Decker. As a continued tribute, borrowing a tradition from the Burning Man Project's Temple Burn, the left-over pieces from the construction of this project will be placed with it during the Event. These structure itself and the pieces which were generated from it will be made available for participants of Esthetic Evolution to write, draw, paint, carve or otherwise relay something upon them which one would intend to release once the sculpture goes up in flames. So, don't forget your markers, your pens, pencils, paints or whittling knife. [Please do not use anything which is not clean or safe to burn!!!]
The Festival has always provided plenty of stimulation for most of your senses. The talented DJ's and other musical performers have enchanted your ears, the art projects and lighting displays have provided candy for your eyes, you've felt the comfort of the chill areas giving you a place to rest your weary bodies, and there is nothing more refreshing than the smell and breath of fresh mountain air. This year, there will, again, be something equally as tantalizing for your taste buds! On Saturday evening, dinner will be provided in the form of a massive hamburger barbeque. Burgers and all the fixin's will be available near the camping area, just across the street in the meadow. Bring your own drink and enjoy this Burgerfest. [Donations will be gladly accepted to help cover costs!]
