Phutureprimitive
Phutureprimitive is the moniker of Northwest producer and song writer Rain. If you were to look at early childhood photos, you would find Rain sitting at the piano plinking keys, grinning from ear to ear…..a true sign of things to come. Continuing his early fascination with music, Rain was later drawn to electronic music, inspired by its ability to combine the best of organically played instruments and the synthetic pleasures of sounds more exotic to the human ear. After beginning a DJ career in the 90s, Rain began incorporating the music he was making in his home studio into his DJ sets.

HEY EVERYBODY!!!
The countdown has begun and we are on our way to a new Evolution. There are 5 months left until Esthetic Evolution 2010. We have started our preparations and hope you have too! In order to insure the best possible experience for every attendee of the Event, we want to make sure we are correlating with you and your crew to provide every accommodation and resource possible to bring your vision to the Esthetic Evolution stage.
THEME & SOUND CAMPS
Art Projects and Theme Camps represent the core basis of self-expression at Esthetic Evolution and we encourage every attendee to immerse themselves in some form of project which will represent their individuality to its fullest. If you have a specific Theme Camp or Art Project in mind, we really want to make sure you keep us in the loop to assure that you are provided with a location and the resources to bring your project to fruition.
Especially
if you are thinking about having your
own sound at your camp, please be aware that we have
found it necessary to create certain guidelines and restrictions pertaining to Sound
Camps. We recognize that self expression comes in many forms and we do not wish to impose
restrictions that would hamper the creativity of any attendee.
At the same time, we must also be mindful of all participants and
ensure that the presence of multiple Sound Camps does not encroach
on their experience as well. Therefore, we have set up an application process to help coordinate and organize the presence of Sound Camps at Esthetic Evolution in 2010. Complete details will be made available in the next Newsletter and on our website in February. In the mean time, if you wish to make an inquiry or have specific questions about resources and specifications for Theme & Sound Camps, please contact us at the following E-Mail address:

ART GRANTS
Have an idea for an amazing
art project but just don't think you're going to have the funds to
get it off the ground? Well maybe we can help. We are very
excited to announce that the Event's success in previous years
enables us to pass some of this good fortune back to you! We have a very limited amount of funds that we can invest in some
serious, thoughtful, and committed artists to help bring some unique
and provoking works to fruition. As you can imagine, it is
important that we have a clear understanding of your project and
intentions to be sure you are willing and able to carry out and
share your ideas with the Festival. For this reason, we have drafted up some guidelines and created a grant application process to request funds from Esthetic Evolution. This process will begin next month with the release of the website and a complete announcement will be made in the February Newsletter. In the mean time, if you wish to make an inquiry or have specific questions about resources and specifications for art projects please contact us at the following E-Mail address:

Hello Esthetic Evolution Family, Friends and Fans!
The Winter Solstice is upon us! It is the shortest, darkest day of the year and a time of hibernation, introspection and finding warmth. It’s also exactly six months from the Summer Solstice, the longest, brightest day of the year and a time of wakefulness, exuberance and letting go. This makes it the best time to announce the return of the Northwest underground’s favorite beginning of summer ritual, Esthetic Evolution!
Esthetic Evolution
2010
This year’s theme, “Six Degrees,” focuses on the web of connections between our event, our attendees and the world around us. Network theorists describe human society as a “small world”, in which most individuals could reach any other person on the planet through an average of six links. You may only have a certain number of friends, but your friends have friends, too, and within six degrees you have a social network spanning the world. In short, we are all connected. These findings have been instrumental to social science, psychology, literature, music and art. We hope 6° inspires our attendees to bond with one-another and build relationships, art and camps representing this connectedness.
Limit of 1,000
Attendees!
As many of you know, Esthetic has gotten bigger and better every year, to the point where it was almost too large for the Twin Springs Resort. This past year, we decided to cap attendance at 1,000 participants (including staff) and only sell tickets by presale. This helped ensure Esthetic remains a fun, safe and sustainable event. We will be repeating the cap again this year and will definitely sell out before the event. There will be no tickets available at the gate. Please buy them early! Tickets will be available online and at select distributors in March. Stay tuned for more information.
Art Projects and Theme Camps
As usual, we encourage ALL attendees to create art and theme camps either representing the theme or celebrating their own artistic vision. Last year, we allowed for several sound camps and gave out art grants totaling $1,000. Both were HUGE successes! We will be allowing a limited number of sound camps and giving out another $1,000 in art grants this year, hopefully to a variety of theme related and non-theme related projects. The application process for sound camps and grants will begin in February. Please see next month’s newsletter for more information. Remember, ALL attendees are encouraged to contribute their vision, whether or not they get funding. The only limitation is that we ask you keep your projects courteous and safe.
If you have any concerns about safety or other event regulations, please contact us at Admin@EstheticEvolution.com.
